David Stern, the 30-year commissioner who molded the shape of the modern NBA into a global iconic brand, died at the age of 77 on January 1st, 2020. He was the commissioner for 30 years, beginning in 1984, and lead the league into a period of great growth into an iconic brand that is a global icon.
