Alex Allred’s new book “When Women Stood: The Untold History of Females Who Changed Sports and the World.” In the book, Allred discusses the various challenges women have faced in sports. It offers a historical perspective but also a detailed analysis of current issues such as social media, the #metoo movement, and the debate about transgendered athletes.
Allred is a professor of kinesiology at Tarleton State University.
