Ep. 232: Forgotten Series – Kerry Wood

This week on Long Gone:

On this week’s episode of Long Gone, the boys recap the opening games of the Wild Card round. Mets failed to reach the postseason with a $340 million payroll. Is this the biggest collapse of a World Series favorite of all-time? The boys dive into what went wrong in Queens, which led to not only an early-end to their season, but Pete Alonso opting out for potentially greener pastures. Since the regular season’s end, teams have already just on the manager-merry-go-round and made changes. The boys talk about which teams are better off, and which teams aren’t. In the last installment of this year’s Forgotten Series, the boys focus on former Cub-great Kerry Wood. He was about the only thing good Wrigley had for a long time and then, just like that, he was gone. What happened to the man known as ‘Kid K’ ? Afterwards, the boys round out the show with Collection Corner.
