On this week’s episode, we begin by discussing the unsuccessful labor negotiations between the MLBPA and MLB leading up to the February 28th labor deadline, and the eventual cancellation of the first two series of the 2022 season. From there, we discuss reactions from around the league, and odds and ends pertaining to the cancellation of games, including owners voting against a CBT raise, service time problems, financial reserves for players, and funds set up for stadium workers. To wrap up, we discuss Derek Jeter stepping down as CEO of the Marlins due to a difference in vision from owner Bruce Sherman, and a historic hire for the Mets.
