On this week’s episode of the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich talk about the upcoming trade deadline, the All Star reserves and the potential snubbery of Devin Booker, a recent roster move, last week’s games, and this week’s games.
The trade deadline is less than a week away, and the guys hit on all the recent rumors. Will Jae Crowder get shipped to Milwaukee before the deadline, or will the Suns end up buying out his contract? The Suns and Raptors have apparently been in discussions, so the guys talk about Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam as possible targets for the Suns.
Devin Booker was left off the All Star reserves, and the guys debate if it was a “snub”. Booker has missed quite a few games this season, and there are plenty of high performing players in the West this year. But does he have a chance to get in as a potential injury replacement?
Then the guys talk about the recent roster move, bringing back Saben Lee after his two 10 day contracts, and waiving Duane Washington Jr. Lee has been solid in the backup PG role while Cam Payne has been injured, and the guys believe he’ll be a solid addition to the end of the bench for the remainder of the regular season. This move keeps open a roster spot, bringing us back to the trade deadline – lets home the Suns make a big move and fill that empty spot.
Thanks for tuning in, and Go Suns!
