The first trailer for the new Sopranos prequel film debuted recently. The trailer showed the debut of the late James Gandolfini’s son Michael playing a younger version of Tony Soprano.
Veteran sportscaster and longtime friend of the show Scott Seidenberg returned for this episode as two “Jersey Guys” discussed not only the trailer but the legacy of the long-running series. The Sopranos debuted on January 10, 1999. The series ran for six seasons totaling 86 episodes until June 10, 2007.
The film is set in the 1960s and 1970s in Newark, New Jersey, using the 1967 riots in the city as a backdrop for tensions between the Italian-American and African-American communities. The film follows the teenage years of Tony Soprano in the midst of a violent gang war his family is involved in.
