Sports in the Covid-19 pandemic have been altered. Big sports were able to play without fans, and now, fans are slowly returning to arenas and stadiums. Smaller sports had no choice but to cancel their seasons. The National Lacrosse League has been that sport. The rising sport canceled the 2020 season and is planning to return in Fall 2021.
Devan Kaney is currently Host & Senior Producer for the National Lacrosse League and Sideline Reporter for the Philadelphia Wings on NBC Sports Philadelphia. She hosts, reports, produces, and even edits content for the league to air across all game broadcasts throughout the US and Canada.
In this episode, she discussed the issues facing the NLL, and also, what her rise to this position has been like. She offered her strong opinions on playing safely and equal rights for women in the sports broadcasting industry.
We spoke to the commissioner of the NLL Nick Sakiewicz on Episode 124, and this episode is a perfect follow-up on the growth of the NLL.
