Ep. 113: The Forgotten Series Returns – Josh Gibson

This week on Long Gone:

On this week’s episode of Long Gone, the boys give props to the Texas Rangers and their dominance so far. Is this for real? Afterwards, they discuss pitchers Liam Hendricks and Mike Soroka’s long-awaited return from the IL. One is coming back into a good situation while the other… not so much. The Forgotten Series is back this summer, and the boys start it off with one forgotten star, who should remain atop of baseball lore. Negro Leagues star Josh Gibson. Some called him, “The Black Babe Ruth”. What could’ve been if he played in Major League Baseball? Not only were some people robbed of never seeing him play, but we’ll never quite know what his full statistics were in the Negro Leagues as only a fraction of these stats were ever recorded. He was a feared right-handed hitter who might be one of the best backstops ever too. The boys talk the legend that is Josh Gibson to kick off their series. They round out the show with Fantasy Factory and Collection Corner.
