On this week’s episode of the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich talk about what has happened this week during the Suns’ 13 game winning streak, break down the two games against the Mavericks, Nuggets, and Spurs, and then preview next week’s games.
A new player has been stepping up each night in this long win streak for the Suns, which might be the most impressive thing about it. While Devin Booker and Chris Paul have been making most of their impact in the 4th Q, our role players and bench have been having big nights to keep the team successful.
The Suns announced that Frank Kaminsky is out with a knee injury, and we don’t know when he’ll be back out on the floor. Abdel Nader has missed the last couple games with a knee injury as well, but the Suns have been doing a great job despite being a little banged up.
The team had a few surprisingly easy wins this last week, with Luka Doncic missing both games against the Suns, and Nikola Jokic out for the Nuggets. Both teams play entirely differently without their stars, but the Suns did a great job slowing down both teams.
Next week the Suns face off against the Cavaliers, Knicks, and Nets. It looks like the Nets may be the first true test to the winning streak (if we can extend it to 15 games), and should be a game that every Suns fan makes sure to tune into.
Thanks for listening, and go Suns!
