The Atlantic Files #187: Damian Lillard rumors everywhere!

This week on The Atlantic Files:

Damian Lillard has heard his name swirling in every trade rumor possible so far this offseason, and the NBA Finals just ended. The NBA Finals ended with another amazing game as Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks brought home the hardware. Plus, Julius Randle was snubbed as a replacement for Team USA in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

First of all, congratulations to the Milwaukee Bucks! At the time that this episode was recorded, it was before the game took place. Giannis now gets to add both NBA Champion and Finals MVP to his lengthy resume at the ripe age of only 26! We discussed if he could potentially make the Hall of Fame if he decided to retire right after winning the championship.

Then, of course, we get to the Damian Lillard stories. Lillard has been included in almost every fan’s trade machine trades as well as all in every mock trade from every city’s sports media teams. So many stories and rumors were coming out that Lillard had to set up an interview to talk about how they’re all false and he has not asked for a trade. Since two of the teams rumored are the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks, we talked about which team could potentially make the trade and which one gives Lillard a better chance at a ring.

Other news around the league includes Julius Randle getting snubbed out of being a replacement for Team USA. Bradley Beal and Kevin Love both were ruled out and the USA committee decided to take Keldon Johnson and JaVale McGee instead of Julius Randle. Something seemed very off in that decision.

Finally, the Brooklyn Nets are rumored to be looking at Nerlens Noel and Khem Birch. Could that solve their big man problems? Plus, the Toronto Raptors hold the fourth pick in the NBA Draft, should they keep it and potentially select Jalen Suggs, or trade it away?

All of that and more on the latest episode!
