At its best, social media offers a way to meet new friends and connect with old ones, keep up with what’s happening, and be shepherded through the toughest times in our lives. Sometime between the launch of these platforms and today, though, social media became a toxic environment for many users.
What happened? Are there problems with the platforms, or are the platforms simply holding a mirror up to society? Does social media need to be reined in? What rules should we create when our kids want to join these platforms? And what’s the best way to engage with your followers?
