This week on Sports With Friends:

Former Washington quarterback Joe Theismann is also an author, speaker, and broadcaster. He joined the podcast from Florida where he will be hosting the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.

Theismann spent 12 seasons with the Washington Redskins (later known as the Washington Football Team), where he was a two-time Pro Bowler and helped the team to consecutive Super Bowl appearances, winning Super Bowl XVII over the Miami Dolphins and losing Super Bowl XVIII. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.

He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame via his career at Notre Dame, is also famous for the memorable 1985 Monday night football injury suffered while being sacked by New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor. Enormously accomplished, his new book, “How to be a Champion Every Day” includes stories that amaze and delight audiences in the interviews and speeches that occupy his time, alongside golf with his celebrity friends.

In this episode, he talks about the change in the WFT franchise name, the difference between the Super Bowl when he played to it now. He also addressed quarterback Alex Smith’s similar leg injury. He explains how he was in the building when it happened, and his contact with Smith.
