But even before the hearing began it was clear that the deck was stacked against Thibodeau. Less than 72 hours before the start of the hearing the district attorney, Greg Oakes, dumped a massive amount of material on Thibodeau's lawyers. Among the critical information in that massive dump of material, were recordings of a witness confessing to Oakes and police, that someone other than Gary Thibodeau was involved in Heidi's kidnapping.
