Germany earns its first victory under Jürgen Klopp, and the Netherlands, Wales and Ireland are also in Nations League action. Elsewhere, Toronto extends Jamal Shead, Anaheim and Buffalo make long-term commitments to young defensemen, and the NHL delivers an explosive opening week highlighted by Igor Shesterkin becoming the first goalie to score in Rangers history .
