On this week’s episode of the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich start off the show by discussing the return of Devin Booker to the lineup.
After missing two weeks worth of games, it didn’t take long for Booker to have a big impact on the court. The guys discuss the impact that Devin Booker has on the defense, as well as his teammates. You can be sure that Landry Shamet was happy to move back into his bench role, where he instantly looked more comfortable. Chris Paul’s job just got a whole lot easier out on the perimeter as well, having another deadly scoring option and solid ball handler at his side.
The Suns dropped a game to the Clippers to start the week, but came back strong by winning their next three. The Suns were shorthanded against the Clippers, who were also missing key players, but their pressure on Paul throughout the game never allowed the Suns to settle into their offensive sets. Throughout the week the Suns saw Ayton and Jalen Smith return to the lineup before Booker made it back, slowly getting the whole gang healthy and back on the court together.
The Suns face off against the Lakers on Tuesday and the Thunder on Thursday, but all eyes are on the Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors. The Suns and Warriors have been fighting for the #1 seed all season, and this matchup on Christmas Day is must-see basketball for all NBA fans. The Suns vs Warriors matchups have all been very important games early on in the season, something every Suns fan can rejoice in after years of meaningless regular season basketball games.
Thanks for tuning in! We’ll be taking a break next week while we celebrate Christmas with our families. Go Suns!
