This week on the Atlantic Files we welcomed our third host to the mix, Dennis Clausen! For his first episode, we discussed how much Rachel Nichols messed up in her hot mic rant, whether the Brooklyn Nets should keep Spencer Dinwiddie or Kyrie Irving, plus more!
By now, everyone has probably seen all the news and opinion pieces on Rachel Nichols. If you haven’t, the brief synopsis is that she was caught on a hot mic essentially saying that she didn’t want ESPN to make up for their diversity issues by replacing her with Maria Taylor. Whether it was the case that her emotions and self-preservation got the best of her or not, she said some disparaging things that can’t be taken back now.
Shifting more towards the basketball side of things, Spencer Dinwiddie seems to be getting a lot of interest. On top of that, he’s interested in a lot of different teams, but only if he gets the bag along with it. As we talked about the best destinations for him, it turned out to be more of a conversation about whether the Brooklyn Nets should keep Kyrie Irving or not. There were some plausible arguments to keep Spencer Dinwiddie instead, but that’s for everyone else to decide too!
Speaking of future destinations, there have been many rumors swirling around the future landing spot of Kemba Walker. Oklahoma City definitely isn’t Walker’s last stop as the timelines don’t match up. So, which team would be the best trade partner and the best use of his skills?
Finally, the NBA Finals have started, which meant prediction time! Plus, the NCAA now allows their players to use their name, image, and likeness for profit. So we had to discuss whether this is a good idea moving forward or not!

Being from the suburbs of Philadelphia, it was hard not to become a Sixers fan during Allen Iverson's prime. Other than just the Sixers, I enjoy watching all forms and levels of basketball, especially the WNBA. Outside of basketball, I've been playing and coaching volleyball for most of my life. Also, after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, I became a Software Developer by day, while writing and hosting podcasts by night.
