In his new book Playing Through the Pain, writer Dan Good seeks to make sense of MLB MVP Ken Caminiti’s fascinating, troubled life. Good began researching Caminiti in 2012 and conducted his first interviews for his biography in 2013.

At the time of this episode’s release, Jake Dennis is in 2nd place, challenging for Formula E’s Season 9 Championship. Dennis has been a Formula-E since 2020. He currently races for the Avalanche Andretti team, which is based in the United States.

Lisa Guerrero had a tumultuous sportscasting career in television. Guerrero spent over a decade as a nationally recognized sports reporter on CBS, Fox, ABC, and ESPN, having anchored and reported for dozens of shows including the wildly popular “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.”

Longtime reporter and broadcaster Jon Wertheim has been with Sports Illustrated since 1996. He is also an analyst for Tennis Channel. Recently, he began doing non-sports reporting for the CBS Show 60 Minutes.

Hall of Fame wide receiver James Lofton is now in his ninth season calling games for the NFL on CBS. Widely regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of all time, Lofton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003.

Former Rutgers football player turned broadcaster and entrepreneur Eric LeGrand joined the show. In October 2010, LeGrand suffered a life-threatening career-ending spinal cord injury in a game vs. Army. In the years since his catastrophic injury, LeGrand has improved.
