The latest superhero show to hit Netflix is Jupiter’s Legacy. It’s based on a comic book by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. In it, wrestler turned actor Tyler Mane plays the main villain Blackstar. He was also Sabretooth in the first X-Men movie.
Mane’s career started as a pro wrestler. In this episode, he explains how he started and how he auditioned for X-Men. From there, he was Michael Myers in the Halloween remake among many other roles. Tyler also did a fantastic job on the podcast explaining the differences between X-Men in 2000 vs. Jupiter’s Legacy in 2021 and the different attitudes towards comic book properties. The stories he told about working with Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart are priceless.
A lot of the podcast featured a breakdown of Jupiter’s Legacy. There are production stories and story breakdowns as well.
There are mild SPOILERS about Jupiter’s Legacy.
