This week on Sports With Friends:

This is the conclusion of the great conversation with former American League and Major League Baseball Umpire John Hirschbeck. Last week, they discussed the sports memorabilia auction to benefit Hirschbeck’s The Magic of Michael Foundation, in honor of his son Michael who passed away from a rare, neurological disease called adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). He lost his younger son John to the same disease in 1992.

This week the story evolves into stories from Hirschbeck’s illustrious career. He discusses his desire to not argue with umpires. The Roberto Alomar-spitting incident comes up. His friend, Jim Joyce’s bad call in the Armando Galarraga near-perfect game in 2010, and his thoughts on MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. He also discusses his thoughts on launch-angle, the shift, and instant replay.

The Magic of Baseball Auction from CollectibleXchange.com is underway and features a treasure-trove of memorabilia from John Hirschbeck’s stellar career.
