Warning: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen Season 3 of the Amazon Prime series, “The Boys” or do not mind hearing key plot points.
The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered individuals, called Supes, are recognized as heroes by the general public and work for a powerful corporation known as Vought International that markets and monetizes them. That barely scrapes the surface of an in-depth plot that turns the superhero genre upside down. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Nathan Mitchell.
This is the 4th episode of the podcast that covers The Boys. Seasons 1 and 2 were reviewed in Episodes 152 and 204, respectively. Also, Episode 277 features an exclusive interview with the executive producer of the animated spin-off The Boys: Diabolical Giancarlo Volpe.
Andy Staples joins the podcast for the first time. Staples is a national college football writer for the Athletic and hosts a podcast of his own, but it is all in the sports realm. Staples steps outside his lane to offer insight into this series.
