This week on Sports With Friends:

Broadcasting icon Jim Lampley joins the show to discuss his new play-by-play venture with a streaming app called Triller. Lampley was to begin his new role on June 19th, but Teófimo López tested positive for Covid-19, so his fight against George Kambosos has been delayed to August 14th. This podcast was recorded before López tested positive.

After more than three decades in network television, and nearly 30 of them as host of HBO’s flagship World Championship Boxing franchise, Jim Lampley is one of America’s most renowned and respected broadcasters and journalists. He was the host and blow-by-blow announcer for all HBO Boxing telecasts from March 1988 until December 2018 and has called some the biggest fights in the history of the sport.

In this episode, Lampley details his departure from HBO, his being the first-ever host of the first-ever 24-hour sports talk radio station WFAN in 1987, his role in the USFL and his dealings with former President Donald Trump, and his belief that podcasts are the future of the spoken word. He also details why he is not on social media.
