Warning: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2023 Warner Bros. Discovery 2023 Release “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” or do not mind hearing key plot points.
The podcast is back! After a few weeks away, this episode is a review of the second film in the Shazam series. It stars Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren, Rachel Zegler, and Asher Angel. It is the sequel to the 2019 release Shazam! and has ties to the DC Extended Universe that includes Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, and Justice League.
Tushar Saxena joins the show to offer his insight on the film. They discuss the twists and turns this movie takes and its impact on the universe, which is said to be ending anyway. They also discuss its failure at the box office on its opening weekend, and the reasons for that.
For what it is worth, Seth found that the film got worse as the review recording went on.
