This week on Hall of Justice:

WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2023 Disney/Marvel Studios’ Release “Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 3” or do not mind hearing key plot points.

This is the 3rd Guardians of the Galaxy movie directed by James Gunn. This movie is part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story follows events from the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special which aired on Disney+ in December 2022. Gunn finished this project before becoming one of the Co-Chairman and CO-CEOs of DC Studios.

Gunn had originally been fired from Volume 3 after controversial jokes that he made on Twitter had resurfaced. Subsequently, Gunn wound up making The Suicide Squad before being rehired to write and direct Guardians Volume 3. The story ties up the main storyline from all the films and incorporates events from the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eddie Pence returns to the podcast to offer his insight on the film. Pence called it the best Marvel movie since Endgame. This episode focused on all the great easter eggs and fan service provided in the movie, and where it places in the overall story arc of the MCU. Seth references some key plot points from this film that seem to derive from an obscure Spider-Man animated series from the late 1990s.
