Since the beginning of this podcast, the original seven cast members of the iconic Justice League animated series have been welcomed to the show. Maria Canals-Berrera is the 6th member of the Justice League cast to join the podcast. Previous guests include George Newbern (Superman), Kevin Conroy (Batman), Phil LaMarr (Green Lantern), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), and Michael Rosenbaum (The Flash). Only Martian Manhunter/J’Onn J’Onnz has not been on the show… yet.
Canals-Berrera is an accomplished on-screen and voice actor who has been on countless shows and films. But it is Hawkgirl who brings her to comic-cons and still is revered today.
In this episode, she discusses the show’s legacy and staying power. She laments how it is being shown on Netflix and Max has introduced the show to a whole new audience. She also talked about her Cuban heritage, and how they worked that into the show during the famous Starcrossed episodes.
Maria was recorded at the Garden State Comics Fest in Morristown, New Jersey.
