WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2023 WBD/DC Comics animated movie “Justice League: Warworld” or do not mind hearing key plot points.
Justice League: Warworld is the latest entry into the group of DC Universe animated direct-to-video releases. It is the 7th movie in the universe that has become known as the “Tomorrow-Verse,” named after the initial film Superman: Man of Tomorrow. The film is written by Ernie Altbacker, Jeremy Adams, and Josie Campbell and directed by Jeff Wamester and stars Stana Katic, Darren Criss, and Jensen Ackles. All three writers and executive producer Jim Krieg have been on this podcast. Altbacker rejoins the show to review this movie. His previous appearance was Episode 261.
In this film, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are abducted and are psychically made to believe that they are in other worlds. Then, they have to unite to battle the villain Mongul. A sequel, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, is set for release in 2024.
