This week on Sports With Friends:

Acclaimed actor and director George Clooney directed a new sports movie entitled “The Boys in the Boat,” which is being released in theaters on December 25th, 2023. The story is based on the 1936 United States Olympic Rowing team, which took gold in Berlin, Germany during the height of the Nazi regime.  The story involves the University of Washington junior-varsity rowing team that qualified for the Olympics against all odds.
Clooney appeared at a press junket for the film.  Also appearing on the podcast are stars Joel Edgerton, who plays the coach Al Ulbrickson, and Callum Turner, who plays rower Joe Rantz.
The episode also features a conversation with Terry O’Neill, an Olympic rowing coach who coached the team from Great Britain in the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympic Games, who was convinced by Clooney to teach the actors how to look like Olympic rowers.
