452. Introducing the ’90 Captain America Director’s Cut Seth Everett
WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2026 Disney+/Marvel Studios series “Wonder Man” or do not mind hearing key plot points.
Wonder Man is the latest entry into Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It stars Yaha Addul Matteen as Simon Williams, an actor who auditions for a Wonder Man feature film. Ben Kingsley reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, a fellow actor and associate of Simon’s. Slattery made his debut in Iron Man 3, where he “impersonated” a terrorist known as the Mandarin. In the Marvel One-Shot “All Hail the King,” the 10 Rings break Slattery out of prison to kill him. He ends up playing a key role in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This show takes place after that film.
Eddie Pence is a stand-up comedian and podcaster. He is the co-host of the Ralph Report with Ralph Garman. He also hosts “The Ramble” with comedian Jerry Rocha and “Not Today…” with Jenn Sterger.
In this episode, Eddie explains how the show relates to him as an actor. They also debate whether Slattery’s return to the MCU ties everything back to Iron Man 3.
