212: Astros in Shambles Doyce Kirkland
This week, we start the show by paying tribute to the victims of last week’s Calabasas helicopter crash, including Kobe Bryant, and long time baseball coach John Altobelli. From there, the team discusses Nick Castellanos’ record four-year, $64 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds, and if it makes them the favorite in the NL Central heading into the 2020 season. Sticking in the division, the team moves to Pittsburgh, where the Pirates traded All-Star center fielder Starling Marte to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and to Chicago, where All-Star Kris Bryant lost his service-time hearing. Elsewhere, the team moves to Houston to discuss the Astros’ choice of Dusty Baker as their new manager, and break down some new data surrounding the team’s sign-stealing scandal.
