This week on The Underdog World Cup Show:

On this episode of The Underdog World Cup Show, Chris Horwedel breaks down a packed World Cup slate as the group stage moves into high-stakes knockout math. The show opens with Mexico finishing group play in perfect form, going three-for-three without conceding a goal and delivering a memorable Azteca moment for Guillermo Ochoa. South Africa also makes history by reaching the knockout stage for the first time, while South Korea is left waiting on the third-place picture.

Chris also covers Group B, where Switzerland, Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Qatar all shape a complicated knockout race. Switzerland and Canada move forward in different positions, while Bosnia keeps itself alive in the best-third-place conversation after a key performance from young Kerim Alajbegović and veteran Edin Džeko.

Group C takes center stage with Brazil and Morocco both making major statements. Brazil looks balanced and dangerous behind Vinícius Júnior, Matheus Cunha, Bruno Guimarães, and Neymar’s long-awaited national-team return, while Morocco continues its impressive tournament with Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Soufiane Rahimi, and Gessime Yassine all part of another chaotic, entertaining match. Scotland now waits on its knockout fate.

The episode then previews six games on today’s World Cup card: Curaçao vs. Ivory Coast, Ecuador vs. Germany, Japan vs. Sweden, Tunisia vs. Netherlands, Turkey vs. USA, and Paraguay vs. Australia. Chris uses odds from oddsmakers to frame the pressure, key players, group scenarios, and market expectations around Germany, Ecuador, Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands, the USMNT, Paraguay, and Australia.
