This week on the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich continue celebrating the win streak, recap games against the Cavaliers, Knicks, and Nets, and then preview next week’s games against the Golden State Warriors x2 and the Detroit Pistons.
The Suns have been the hottest team in the league, winning their 16th game in a row. The Suns all-time record is a 17 game winning streak, and the Suns will have to defeat the Warriors to tie it. This is easily the biggest game of the regular season so far, and the guys talk about what will have to happen to see the Suns come out victorious. They also discuss the new rotation with Cameron Payne, Landry Shamet, and Devin Booker playing 1-3. To round out the winning-streak discussion, the guys talk about the huge impact JaVale McGee has had on the squad.
The Suns finished off their road trip with a 3-0 record this week. Ricky Rubio helped gift the Suns the W late in the Cleveland game before the team headed to New York for the Knicks and Nets. After a dominant win over the Knicks, the Suns went on to get off to a hot start against the Nets, and held off a Kevin Durant comeback to come away with the win.
This week the Suns will have to get by the Warriors twice if they want to claim the #1 spot in the West, and don’t forget about the trap game against the Pistons in between.
Thanks for tuning in, see you next week. Go Suns!
