On this week’s episode of the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich give an update on the Suns’ injury report, the players who have stepped up due to those injuries/illnesses, and talk about the upcoming five game road trip.
The Suns’ recently saw Deandre Ayton, Jae Crowder, and JaVale McGee return to the court after missing the last week+ due to COVID. The team handled their absenses pretty well, and will have to work on regaining their chemistry out on the court with the rest of the team. Cameron Johnson will be missing at least the first game of this road trip due to a sprained ankle, while Ish Wainwright enters health and safety protocols and Justin Jackson didn’t make the trip to Toronto.
Johnson has stepped up in a very big way with the absense of Crowder, filling his role in the starting lineup and shooting the lights out on a nightly basis. The guys discuss what his role will look like once the rest of the team gets back to full health. Bismack Biyombo is the Suns most recent signing, and did an amazing job filling in at the center position while the Suns were without Ayton and McGee.
Thanks for tuning in, and we’ll talk again next week. Go Suns!
