The Atlantic Files #182: Kemba Walker Trade

This week on The Atlantic Files:

We finally have our first trade from a team that’s sitting at home watching the NBA Playoffs! Brad Stevens, with his first deal in his new job, has shipped off Kemba Walker to the midwest to play with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

No one really knows who is the clear-cut winner in this deal as both Al Horford and Moses Brown head to Boston. OKC does get another first-round pick in this year’s draft, however, they lose a big man with great potential in Brown. Boston on the other hand does get some bigs to round out their rotation with Robert Williams, but this move doesn’t scream NBA Finals all of a sudden with the rest of the roster that they have.

For the teams in the playoffs, however, the Brooklyn Nets are headed to a game seven with Milwaukee. They failed to live up to their offensive firepower in game six. Now, in a win-or-go-home situation, we get to see Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo put it all out on the floor. This should be fun!

Finally, we have the Philadelphia 76ers. A historic collapse from a 26-point lead has put their backs against the wall. They not only have to win to stay alive, but they also have to do it on the road. This team is not the greatest away from home, but after dropping two games at home, they’ll have to find a way to do so!

All of that and more on the latest episode!

Other than just the Sixers, I enjoy watching all forms and levels of basketball, especially the WNBA. Outside of basketball, I've been playing and coaching volleyball for most of my life.
